Daily Inspirations to get connected to the source

The entire Universe is indeed a wheel, a chakra. And the Divine Mother who creates is in the centre of it. That is to say, everywhere there is intense dynamic activity as in a whirling wheel, whereas in the hub there is utter stillness.

Swami Ishwarananda Giri

Questions are always about things you don't know and will be endless unless you find out who the questioner is.

Bhagavan Sri Ramana

Just as you handle fire , but do not get burnt by it You should handle desire, but not become a slave to it.

Swami Ishwarananda Giri

Gods grace is always like an ocean, vast, immeasurable, surrounding from all corners the "earthiness" in you. Awake. Just open the lock called mind and body. With a roar enters in grace, which dissolves anything called "you" and fills everything completely. Become one with the limitless grace.

Swami Vivekananda

Yoga concerns itself with discovering the process by which all your perceptions rise. Constantly world is entering into you as perception, and perception is going out projecting the world. Constantly the cycle is there. You sit at the focus of this, the centre of this. It is something like going to the depths of the ocean. In that perfect stillness and fullness, there is no light, there is no darkness, no movement, no restriction of movement also.

Swami Ishwarananda Giri

Unless and until a man embarks upon this quest of the true self, doubt and uncertainty follow his footsteps through out life. The Greatest kings and statesman try to rule others, when in their heart of hearts they know that they cannot rule themselves. Yet the greatest power is at the command of the man who has penetrated to his inmost depth.

Bhagavan Sri Ramana

In the first place, you have to establish a relationship with God. Look upon Him as your father or mother and yourself as His son or daughter, and surrender your entire life to Him saying, “I am nothing, O God, You are everything.” Then it is that God reveals Himself in your heart in all His splendour. He fills every part of your being and the distinction between you and Him disappears

Swami Ramdas

As soon as we react, we become slaves. A man blames me, and I immediately react in the form of anger. A little vibration which he created made me a slave.

Swami Vivekananda

You are all adept at gathering information about what goes on in all corners of the world. Let Me ask you: Are you aware of what happens in the corner of your own mind? Do you know the answer to the simple question, “Who am I?” Why have you not felt it essential to answer this important question? Without knowing this answer, how can you go about rashly judging, labelling and even defaming others? Earnestly ask this of yourself and seek out the answers to the enigma, from within yourself. Our scriptures guide you on the process by which you can discover it yourself!

Sri Sathya Sai Shirdi

We should have faith that we are transcendental beings and everything that happens around us is to elevate us to that transcendental state.

Guruji Viswanath

Diamonds lying somewhere, not discovered, not recognized, not known are cast away, are useless. Similarly, the potentialities of the human birth have to be realized, have to be known, and then put to use. So man is distinguished by the powers of the intellect. We call him Manava, one who exercises Manisha. And what is Manisha? Manisha is that which leads him to prosperity without increasing his bondages. That is the Manisha, that is the cleverness

Swami Ishwarananda Giri

The phenomena we see are curious and surprising – but the most marvelous of all we do not realise and that is that one, and only one, illimitable force is responsible for (a) All the phenomena we see; and (b) The act of seeing them.

Bhagavan Sri Ramana

Can my mind exist without any incentive, without any motive to change or not to change? Because, any motive is the outcome of the reaction of a particular culture, is born out of a particular background. So, can my mind be free from the given culture in which I have been brought up? This is really quite an important question. Because if the mind is not free from the culture in which it has been reared, nurtured, surely the individual can never be at peace, can never have freedom. His gods and his myths, his symbols and all his endeavors are limited, for they are still within the field of the conditioned mind

Sri J Krishnamurti

When you sit silent and serene, all your senses at rest, in the awareness of your divine consciousness, you feel that you are not an individual tied down to the desires of the flesh, but a purified and enlightened being filled with a spiritual radiance which coalesces your life with God’s.

Swami Ramdas

Atman alone exists and is real. The threefold reality of world, individual soul, and God is, like the illusory appearance of silver in the mother of pearl, an imaginary creation in the Atman. They appear and disappear simultaneously. The Self alone is the world, the ‘I’ and God. All that exists is but the manifestation of the Supreme.

Bhagavan Sri Ramana

"Smarana" is the only means available to you to offer your actions to the Lord. But you have to carefully understand what Smarana implies. It is not objective thinking. When you are performing some action like driving a car, if your mind wanders to Shiva, it will be a catastrophe. Smarana means you have to feel God. Feel Him, as the reality behind all including yourself. Feel that you are a part of that ocean called Shiva. You are always a spray of bliss. If you remember and be aware of this connection, it will constitute "Shiva-Smarana". In other words you should feel your roots, be rooted in Shiva. Shiva is your Root.

Swami Ishwarananda Giri

Ganesha has mooshika (mouse) as his vehicle. Mooshika also represents the 'bhaktas'(devotees). It is generally depicted as looking up to Ganesha. This implies that if the bhakta ignores the fruits (of the world) and looks up to God, then it can attain God. We should also look up to God and seek him - only then do we become aware of His existence and unite with Him.

Guruji Viswanath

Modhaka is the sweetest of all sweets. He is ready to give modhaka to those who want to attain him. The outer covering of a modhaka is made of white rice flour - representing the suddha tatwa. The inside is filled with ‘poorna’ representing fullness, poorana with Sathva bhaava. When your body and mental shell represented by the outer covering of rice flour - is ready, when you develop love towards him, then Ganesha is ready to grant fulfillment in our life and make us complete.

Guruji Viswanath

Take fresh spiritual resolves and pray to Lord Ganesha for inner spiritual strength to attain success in all your undertakings. May the blessings of Sri Ganesha be upon you all! May He remove all the obstacles that stand in your spiritual path! May He bestow on you all material prosperity as well as liberation!

Sri Swami Sivananda

Grace can be had only by having a keen aspiration for God. This is the first thing necessary — the aspiration to unite ourselves with Him. This longing should seize our heart. Then it will enable us to draw strength, inspiration and light from Him by which we may be purified and the darkness within us dispelled. Now we are conscious of His grace.

Swami Ramdas

He is born in vain, who having attained the human birth, so difficult to get, does not attempt to realise God in this very life.

Sri Ramakrishna Deva

Twenty hammer strokes might not succeed in breaking a stone, but the twenty first might. Does this mean the first 20 blows were of no avail? No! Each stroke contributed its share to the final success which was the cumulative effect of all 21 strokes. So too, your mind is engaged in a struggle with the internal and external world. Needless to say, you may not always succeed. You can attain everlasting bliss by immersing yourself in good works and saturating your mind with the love of God. Infuse every moment of life with that love.

Sri Sathya Sai Shirdi

Do not exert or worry about anything - not only now, but as a principle, always. The only thing worth worrying about or exerting for is, an emptying of ourselves of things, an internal awakening to our unlimited purity, perfection, freedom and bliss.

Swami Ishwarananda Giri

Be conscious always that the God that you pray to is within you and everywhere about you. His protection and grace are there ever for you. Be always aware that He is guiding you from within

Swami Ramdas

The teachings of Lord Krishna as taught by the Gita are the grandest the world has ever known. He who wrote that wonderful poem was one of those rare souls whose lives sent the wave of regeneration through the world. The human race will never again see such a brain as his, who wrote the Gita.

Swami Vivekananda

Embodiments of Love! Bear this in your mind: Until you see Divinity in everyone and everywhere, continue to meditate and repeat the Lord’s name. Also, devote your time to the service of the world, regardless of the fruits thereof. Carry on this until your mind is free from the waves of feelings and is full of Divinity. Then you will become blessed.

Sri Sathya Sai Shirdi

Be witness of your own struggle. Look upon it calmly, cheerfully and fearlessly.

Swami Ramdas

Do not exert or worry about anything - not only now, but as a principle, always. The only thing worth worrying about or exerting for is, an emptying of ourselves of things, an internal awakening to our unlimited purity, perfection, freedom and bliss.

Swami Ishwarananda Giri

What is called 'mind' is a wondrous power residing in the Self. It causes all thoughts to arise. Apart from thoughts, there is no such thing as mind. Therefore, thought is the nature of mind. Apart from thoughts, there is no independent entity called the world. In deep sleep there are no thoughts, and there is no world. Just as a spider emits the thread of the web, out of itself and withdraws it into itself, likewise the mid projects the world out of itself and again resolves it into itself. When the mind comes out of the Self, the world appears.

Bhagavan Sri Ramana

Peace is not absence of Violence, Peace is not compassion, and Peace is not bliss. Peace is Silence. Go to the origin of all thoughts, go deep within yourself. During Pranayama and Yoga, temporarily mind comes to a standstill, that also is not silence because you are still seeking Silence. So this "You", which seeks, is the thing. Take this hint, if you can see the gap between your thoughts, then the silence takes over you.

Guruji Viswanath

A worldly man is very busy with the play-toys of worldly objects. He forgets to look within and enjoy the eternal bliss of his Soul.

Swami Sivananda

The mind has to be made malleable like clay. Just as clay sticks wherever you throw it, so the mind must be made to dwell upon whatever object you concentrate it.

Swami Vivekananda

There is nothing mind can do that cannot be better done in the mind's immobility and thought-free stillness. When mind is still, then truth gets her chance to be heard in the purity of the silence.

Sri Aurobindo

You say that this way is too difficult for you or the likes of you and it is only "Avatars" like myself or the Mother that can do it. That is a strange misconception; for it is, on the contrary, the easiest and simplest and most direct way and anyone can do it, if he makes his mind and vital quiet, even those who have a tenth of your capacity can do it.

Sri Aurobindo

Death has various aspects and dimensions. Many of our thoughts died last year to give way to newly evolved thoughts. Similarly each second dies to evolve into a new second. Dying leads to life in time and space scale.

Guruji Viswanath

The Ordainer controls the fate of souls in accordance with their past deeds, their prarabdha karma. Whatever is destined not to happen will not happen, try how hard you may. Whatever is destined to happen will happen, do what you may to stop it. This is certain. The best course, therefore, is for one to be resigned.

Bhagavan Sri Ramana

Meditation is seeing the constant touching the ever-changing movement of life. The man who has progressed through being a sinner to being a saint has progressed from one illusion to another. This whole movement is an illusion. When the mind sees this illusion it is no longer creating any illusion, it is no longer measuring. Therefore thought has come to an end with regard to becoming better. Out of this comes a state of liberation - and this is sacred. This alone can, perhaps, receive the constant.

Sri J Krishnamurti

Train yourself in the language of God. Silence is His language. Introspect, and search Him inside your heart.

Sri Swami Sivananda

That which you think, you should speak. Let there be harmony between your thought and word. Otherwise, if you merely say that God is your all in all, while in your mind you have made the world your all in all, you cannot derive any benefit.

Sri Ramakrishna Deva

Practice the three disciplines of silence, cleanliness and forbearance. In silence you can hear the voice of God. Through cleanliness you earn purity. By forbearance, you cultivate love.

Sri Sathya Sai Shirdi

The result of self enquiry is the cure for all sorrows. It is the highest of all results. Self-enquiry itself is most meritorious and purifying.

Bhagavan Sri Ramana

Nature, which raises the lotus to thrive on water, also makes its leaves and petal waterproof. Be convinced that the Great Power which implants you in the field of transactions has endowed you with the capacity to be untouched by them. Exercise that capacity to be in touch with the Divine.

Swami Ishwarananda Giri

There is no greater remedy than this continuous yoga or union with God or Atma. Pain is inevitable as a result of discarding of vasanas (mental tendencies) which you have had for so long.

Bhagavan Sri Ramana

Life as we know it, our daily life, is a process of becoming. I am poor and I act with an end in view, which is to become rich. I am ugly and I want to become beautiful. Therefore my life is a process of becoming something. Now, this becoming is strife, this becoming is pain, it is not? It is a constant struggle: I am this, and I want to become that.

Sri J Krishnamurti

Meditation need not necessarily mean sitting in a lonely corner or sequestered spot and thinking over Rama or Krishna or Jesus or Mohammed or pouring forth verbal or mental prayers. Actions that tend to purify the grossness of the individual are to be collectively treated as meditation.

Sri Swami Sivananda

As soon as you say,’I am little mortal being’, You are saying something that is not true, you are giving the lie to yourselves.

Swami Vivekananda

It is the Divine that inspires, activates, leads and fulfils the life of every being, however simple or complex it may be! From the atom to the Universe, every single being is flowing fast to merge in the sea of bliss. Never forget that every one of you is Sath-Chith-Ananda Swarupa (Embodiments of Existence-Consciousness-Bliss) – only you are unaware of it and imagine yourself to be bound to this form and its limitations! This is the myth that should be exploded, so that your Divine Life may begin.

Sri Sathya Sai Shirdi

The entire world is an open book for us to study and learn. God is the Teacher who helps us raise above the illusory world. Therefore, it is we who have to seek the permanent Truth, the ultimate silence, which is the essence of Life.

Guruji Viswanath

Just as you handle fire , but do not get burnt by it You should handle desire, but not become a slave to it.

Swami Ishwarananda Giri

You merely go about place to place get tired and disgusted. Where is Shanti (Peace)? If Shanti is required the only correct method of securing it is Self-Enquiry. Through self-enquiry, self-realisation is possible.
