The teachings of the Avadhuta Gita are based on the experience of Dattatreya Avadhuta. As he himself declared, “The great Avadhuta, after purifying himself through meditation and becoming absorbed in the uninterrupted bliss of Brahman, has sung this Gita spontaneously.”
