Aum (Chanting)
Bhagavan Sri Satya Sai says:
The correct address of God is Om. Just as the word God consists of three letters G-O-D, likewise OM is the combination of three syllables A-U-M. However, when you chant OM, you should not separate the three syllables and chant, Aaaa…Uuuuu…Mmmmm! You should utter Om, but not its spelling!
Om should be uttered in a sweet and smoothly progressive wat starting with the sound of “A”, coming from the navel, and then the sound “U” from the throat, and nally conclude with “M” from the lips. It should resemble the sound of a far-of aeroplane in the sky, gradually increasing in volume as it comes near, and then slowly fading away.
Omkaaram Bindu Samyuktam, Nityam Dhyayanti Yoginah
Kaamadam Mokshadam Chaiva, Omkaaraaya Namo Namaha
I Salute the Om, which is united with the Source, on which the Yogis ever dwell, and which grants desires and liberation.
